Training Timings for Term 3

Dear all

As you would have known, the seniors have requested training for the 1st 2 weeks of Term 3 be on a Wednesday as some of them have NCC Day Parade rehearsal on Fri. This is because it's still critical for them to evaluate the Part Cs to determine the next line-up.

Timing for 1st 2 Wed : 2:30 - 6pm

regards

To everyone

Dear Cadets..

Please understand that the cancellation of the camp was unavoidable. If you're disappointed, it's ok if you're disappointed because you were so geared up towards the camp - this showed your commitment, passion and dedication to NCC, and the teachers are all proud of that.

However, if we feel mad and angry, do take the time to reflect... what are we really mad and angry at? Are we angry at the camp cancellation at the very last minute? Are we angry at the H1N1 flu for causing us all this 'unnecessary trouble'? Are we mad because we have shortened our whole family holiday just for the camp? Do we have any control over it? Who are we really angry at?

There will be times when situation beyond our control happens, due to natural causes. In our case, it may be this H1N1, in other countries, tsunami, earthquake, so on. Should we be angry if a tsunami spoiled our long awaited and planned for event? should we be disappointed when an earthquake disrupts our birthday party?

My dear cadets, let's view things in a fresh perspective. We may not have a choice when things beyond our control happen, but we can CHOOSE how we REACT and RESPOND to it. Continue to be positive and adapt to the situation.. this is part of the Art of Leadership that we are all learning.

warmest regards
LTA Shahid

To the Whole Unit

I would like to apologize on behalf of NCC,

I know that everyone is hyped up for the camp, I was, and suddenly out of the blue it gets cancel. I understand that a lot of people is kinda mad and disappointed and that is why I want apologize.

For those who have cut short their holidays just for this camp, I would like to say sorry to both you and your family for making the sacrifice to come down for this camp.

I do not know how we're going to POP but the solution I have come up for now is that the POP ceremony would be held on the third week of July as I need more time to evaluate the potential of all the Part Cs to ensure i maximise their potential and choose the correct leaders.

Sorry once again for all inconveniece caused. I'm angry and disappointed myself but well we have no choice.

Thanks,
Sergeant Major Aaron

NCC Day & Part C Selections....

To the whole Unit,

It was unfortunate that camp was cancel due to the H1N1 and I want to apologize to those who had cut short their holiday abroad just so they could attend the camp. Although it is disappointing, remember to attend training on the first week when school Re-opens.

NCC DAY,

NCC Day, is coming and I've yet to confirm the dates on when we're holding the cermony on. It would either be on the 1st of July(Wednesday) or 3rd of July(Friday). PLease check the blogs for updates..

Part C Selections,

To Part C,
Due to the unfortunate event of the camp being cancelled, it would be harder for me to select those potential ones to take over the Part D. You will be handling every training for now on, and we'll be observing al of you. First task, Plan the Routine Order(RO) for the 1st of July training. The NCC Day ceremony, I would do the planning

Thanks,
Sergeant Major Aaron

June Camp Cancelled

Dear cadets

The Principal, Vice-Principal and the school management has decided to cancel all camps during the June holidays to prevent any unnecessary risk of the H1N1 due to the unpredictability of the dynamic situation. Please use this time wisely to catch up on your homework and to prepare for school re-opening.

As for Part D POP and Part C Take-Over, we'll use a normal training day during Term 3 (when school reopens).

if you need clarifications (especially for your parents) pls do not hesitate to contact me.

thanks and regards

NCC UPDATES

To those who are going to Specialist Course,

I would like to wish you all good luck for your course and hopefully, there would be many 2nd Sergeants emerging from this course. Please make full use of this course as what it teaches applies to what you are going to teach the cadets. My advice is to enjoy the camp, listen to the Cadet Officers and Staffs there, make new friends and get their contacts to stay in touch and also do the right thing but not the things that might get other people's attention.

Make sure you have all the items required to bring and GOOD LUCK TO ALL.

Civil Defence Course,

To the 8 of you who are going to the Civil Defence Course on the 17th of June, please be punctual and wear your No.4 smartly. Behave yourself as you're representing our school unit. The Sec 3 Specialist would be accompanying all of you all there. They would inform you before hand on what time and where to meet. If the se3c 3 specialists are fooling around, just give me a message and they will be severely dealt with, same goes to the cadets.
Come out of the course with a badge so that you can proudly where it on your No.4

NCC POP CAMP
To the whole unit, POP camp would be on the 23rd to 25th of June and it would be conducted in school. You are advised to not go abroad during this camp period as many lessons would be conducted and also because of the swine flu, i doubt all of you would travel. To the specialist, if any of you fail to attend this camp, your chances of getting a higher post would be lowered, I'm sorry to say this as during the camp is when we're gonna evaluate all of you. This is the Part D's last camp and i hope it would turn out to be a great and successful one.

Thanks,
Sergeant Major Aaron
